Michelle serves as Director and Chief Policy Counsel of External Affairs at T-Mobile. Based in Washington, D.C., the External Affairs team is an arm of the Legal and Government Affairs Office, responsible for advancing and shaping T-Mobile’s public policy agenda at the Federal, State and local levels, and increasing visibility and awareness of the brand among focused external partners, key policy stakeholders, and academic alliances. Michelle joined the T-Mobile family back in 2007 after serving as Senior Counsel for the House Judiciary Committee, where she acted on behalf of the late Chairman John Conyers, Jr., the Dean and an original founder of the Congressional Black Caucus, to drive the Committee’s focus on matters of civil rights, civil liberties, social justice, and immigration. For the past 10 years, Michelle has served on the Board of Directors for the Ellington Fund of the Duke Ellington School of Arts in Washington D.C., where she works to support the academic and arts-driven efforts of the sole D.C. public high school to offer a dual curriculum encompassing both professional arts training and full academic enrichment to its students, in preparation for college and careers in the arts. She has recently become a Founding Member of the D.C. Chapter of CHIEF, a women’s networking and coaching organization whose missive is in driving women forward into positions of power at the C and Senior Executive level — and keeping them there. Michelle is an alumna of the University of Maryland and The George Washington University National Law Center..
