June 15, 2022 – WASHINGTON, D.C. – All In Together (AIT), a nonpartisan advocacy group focused on engaging and empowering women’s civic education and leadership in democracy, hosted its 3rd annual Black Women Lead event in Washington D.C. on June 15, 2022.
The program highlights Black women’s power and impact in the march towards a more equitable future and includes luminary leaders across the business, political, art, and entertainment spheres. Speakers include Karine Jean-Pierre; April Ryan, White House correspondent for The Grio; Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, CEO of The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights Maya Wiley; and comedian and actress Amanda Seales.
“Black women are the engine of American democracy” said All In Together CEO Lauren Leader. “Black Women Lead is a chance to celebrate and amplify their contributions in every sphere and discipline.”
“Whether in the boardroom or on the Hill, it is critical that we bridge the gap between decision makers,” said Celente Warren, Vice President Global Diversity and Inclusion, Merck and an All In Together Board Member. “I am honored to be part of this event and further the mission of fostering women’s leadership across all spectrums.”
“Black Women Lead is an incredible opportunity to support and honor Black women trailblazers,” said Edda Collins Coleman, Co-Founder of AIT. “Together, with our collective power, we transform the legislative and political landscapes, and work to restructure the societal imbalances perpetuated throughout industries. As Black women, our commitment to paving the way for all of our voices to be heard is one of the many reasons I helped found AIT. We will continue to encourage, empower and engage!”
“At P&G, we consider it our responsibility to listen, learn, and keep our finger on the pulse of diversity and cultural competency, especially as it relates to branding and advertising,” said Lela Coffey, Vice President, North America Hair Care Portfolio, Procter & Gamble. “That is why we are honored to be a part of an event that acknowledges, empowers, and elevates Black women across business, art, entertainment industries, and more. It will always be important for us to partner together to bring attention to the issues that matter most to our consumers. By uncovering and providing new perspectives to consider and solutions to employ, we are collectively making a change in our communities.”
Black Women Lead is presented in partnership with the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation and the Higher Heights for America Leadership Fund. It will be available via live stream at www.aitogether.org and on BET Her TV’s Facebook page, and will also be recorded and available at those same sites. Full speaking program includes:
