Jennifer McPhillips is Director of Government Relations for Marsh & McLennan Companies (MMC) where she is responsible for developing MMC’s global public policy views and advising on strategies to advance the company’s priorities in the public sector.
Jennifer is the Company’s global ambassador in Washington and abroad — establishing relationships with policymakers; managing engagement with trade bodies and think tanks; and maintaining alliances with key corporations. Jennifer’s experience and portfolio includes issues relating to mobility, diversity and inclusion, future of work, flood insurance, terrorism risk insurance, insurance regulatory reform, agriculture insurance and other strategic legislative and regulatory issues.
Before joining MMC, Jennifer served as the Vice President of Federal Government Affairs at the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (IIABA). She was a key member of the IIABA team for ten years and advised on a wide variety of government affairs issues.
Prior to her career in the private sector, Jennifer worked on Capitol Hill where she served on the legislative staff of U.S. Representative Leonard Boswell (D-Iowa).
Jennifer earned her B.A. from Providence College in Rhode Island and a master’s degree from Seton Hall University in New Jersey. She currently resides on Capitol Hill and is an active member and leader with the Junior League of Washington, DC.
