James White is the Head of Diversity & Inclusion at Lord Abbet. Most recently he was at OppenheimerFunds as Head of Diversity & Inclusion. He began there in late September of 2015 where he is tasked with leading the execution and ongoing development of a multi-year strategy to establish inclusion as a core value and competitive advantage for the firm. Implementation of this strategy entails establishing an ongoing change management process with targeted programs and effective governance in order to yield measurable, impactful results.
White began his career at Merrill Lynch where he spent 15 years in Human Resources, working primarily in Talent Management leading various efforts geared toward the development of diverse talent.
In 2010, White joined Credit Suisse as the Human Capital Project Lead for the Investment Bank where he helped to create and lead human capital committees in the Equities, Fixed Income, and Investment Banking Departments. On each committee, White developed Diversity & Inclusion sub-committees to focus on attracting, developing, and retaining diverse talent. With an increased focus on the impact of these diversity initiatives, in 2013 he joined the Credit Suisse Americas Diversity & Inclusion team. In this role, he provided strategic consulting and thought leadership on creating an inclusive culture, believing that, through inclusion, companies can create a more diverse workforce that drives innovation and therefore, business results.
White currently serves on the PFLAG Business Advisory Board, an LGBTQ advocacy organization. He was recently elected President of the Board of Directors of Amas Musical Theatre, a theatre company that works to amplify the voice of diverse communities through the performing arts, providing educational and professional development opportunities for both youth and adults. White is also an off-Broadway theatre producer.
