Liz is the Former Vice President of External Affairs for General Motors. she was previously the Vice President of Government Affairs for Siemens. In this role, she was responsible for managing the US Government Affairs team and leading the strategy on US policy and international affairs. Liz was responsible for holding relationships with the US Congress, Administration and key state and local government officials regarding legislative, regulatory and policy issues in support of Siemens’ businesses and on behalf of its 50,000 US employees.
Liz came to Siemens after a 22 year career with BP. Her last position was Senior Director, US Government Affairs leading BP’s federal lobbying team in Washington, DC. Throughout her career at BP she supported each part of the energy value chain from exploration and production, alternative energy, LNG, pipelines, refining and marketing, and the trading business. During her career she spent almost a decade advocating for the international businesses in Africa, Latin America, Caribbean and Canada.
Liz holds an M.A. in Political Management from The George Washington University and a B.A. in Psychology from Western Michigan University.
She serves on the boards of the National Foreign Trade Council, Organization for International Investment, the National Association of Manufacturing’s National Public Affairs Steering Committee, Women’s Energy Network, All In Together, The Jefferson Islands Club and is Past President of Women In Government Relations. She also represents Siemens on multiple government affairs committees at relevant industry associations.
Liz is married to William Reicherts and they have two sons.
